Atlanta Social Security & Personal Injury Lawyer

At the Law Office of Tammy M. Holcomb, my goal is build a relationship where you feel comfortable coming back to me for future needs and referring friends, family, or even strangers. My business model does not revolve around the bottom line. It revolves around you. Unlike many firms, my focus is on you as an individual. My clients are dealing with life problems that sometimes extend far beyond their health. I am here to listen. I am here to help where I can.

Social Security Disability

The Social Security Administration is one of the largest agencies within the federal government and maneuvering the “red tape” of proving a disability claim can take you to the breaking point. Bureaucracy and human suffering mix about as well as oil and water.

Many of my clients come to me after they have attempted to resolve their Social Security Disability claim by themselves, but have quickly learned that it is difficult to focus on your health while also filling out mountains of paperwork for the government.  I am one of a few attorneys who will assist you from the very beginning. You read that correctly. I do not require that you be denied first before you can even schedule a consultation with me.

So, if you need help filing for Social Security Disability there is no need to go it alone.  Call or text me at 678.665.9885 or email me to schedule a free consultation.

Before Your Consultation

Consulting an experienced attorney is a recommended first step in the disability process. Making the most out of that consultation is invaluable. Here are some tips for the most informative and helpful consultation:

  1. Be prepared to discuss your health conditions. Whether you have physical or psychological impairment, be prepared to speak openly about it;
  2. Be prepared to discuss your work history. It is important to understand whether you are currently working and the type of work you have done in your career;
  3. Be prepared to discuss your education. Although many people believe they cannot be approved if they have advanced education, that is not necessarily true. But, to have a clear picture of your claim, it is important to discuss your educational history; and
  4. Be prepared to discuss any prior applications for disability benefits and whether you have been to a hearing before.

After Your Consultation

When you hire me to handle your disability case, one of the things you will hear me say a lot is that “disability claims are won and lost on medical evidence.”  Having the wrong kind of medical evidence is just as damaging as having no medical evidence because the result will often be a denial of benefits. The Social Security Administration does not make distinguishing the “right” kind of evidence from the “wrong” kind an easy task. This can be incredibly daunting and part of my job as your lawyer is to help you research medical treatment options – especially if you are uninsured.

Hopefully by now you are sensing that I take a very personalized approach to representing my clients.  You should expect to have regular contact with me where we will discuss medical treatment and the progression of the case.  And, because this is about building a relationship, I also appreciate all of the unique things that make you who you are.

I have worked on Social Security Disability cases throughout the nation, treating every claim with care.  If you have been thinking of filing an application for disability, have been denied, or just want to understand what is involved, contact the Law Office of Tammy M. Holcomb today.
